Would buy and ...

1. Up-armor

2. TRD Supercharger kit

3. Slight suspension lift/wheels/tires

85,000 miles! In emerald green too. swoon. I love that Toyota color. Pretty good price for a low mile uzj100. Too bad he doesn’t say if it has the rear locker or not. 99 was an interesting year for the cruiser, it still had the old 343f 4 speed AT but 4.30 axles and the 235 hp v8. they get crap mileage of course. Another bummer of the 99 is that they used a 2 pinion front diff carrier so if you plan on getting bigger tires and wheeling it you have to consider upgrading the front diff so it doesn’t explode. They changed it to a 4 pinion later. Also...dammit dude, stop going to pep boys! Also the early upper control arms can crack unless you upgrade the bumpstops.

This combined with the post a few down, the day is going well for your Land Cruiser knowledge.

I only got to deploy on Land Rovers once today. I’m feeling pent up. Well, at least I got to mention Goliath three-wheel trucks.

I believe all 98-99 land cruisers in the US had the rear locker. Like navigation, it wasn't really an option for us.

There are a lot of people looking for the supercharger kit, good luck finding one under $5k used.

98-99 it was optional, 2000 on it was no longer available.

I knew it (sadly) went away in 2000 for the US market. Interesting that it was an option. It seems overall there have been very few actual “options” for the Land Cruiser.

yeah, the only “option” on my 40th anniversary edition was:

1. Paint color - two choice.

2. Lockers - Yes or no.

I keep debating whether or not to put an LSD or retrofit a 98-99 locker into my truck. I would get a lot more use out of an LSD, especially in snow, but a locker is a locker. Cost would be relatively similar too.

Wouldn’t adding a locker require the locker control module as well?

yes, Slee sells a version or a used one could be sourced. Even finding the dial isn't too bad.
